So to wrap up the first quarter of 2016, it’s been a busy one.
I’ve done lots of photography jobs ranging from weddings and portrait sessions (families and headshots) to boudoir (French for Sexy Bedroom Photography) which I really enjoy doing, and even shot a bunch of baseball teams for their end of season photos. I did a shoot for a Valentines Day Makeover (Slob to Heart Throb) for a radio station and photographed a 1 year old’s birthday party. I’ve also done some camera club judging on various topics both in person and remotely.
For personal photography projects I’ve been working on some concept photography, have been doing long exposures, landscapes, animals, nature, flowers, waterfalls and lots of bush walking.
In January I went on a trip with a big bunch of like minded photographers out west to photograph in beautiful sunflower fields. We visited historic homes, quaint towns, the Darling Downs Zoo and visited some more great waterfalls. It was a fun overnight trip, although with a late night and early alarm to catch the sunrise over the sunflower fields not much sleep was achieved.
I also rebranded my business somewhat with a new watermark, logo, Instagram account for Purdie Photography, and Facebook cover photo which I’m using in my business paperwork. I’m lucky to have the help of a lovely young lady who is helping me with digital marketing, branding and social media, and a great friend who helped me with the photography for my new photo.
Coming up soon is another wedding, two more family portrait sessions, more concept photography, a couple of trips, presenting a speech at Wynnum Camera Club and I’ve been invited to the Photography Society of Queensland’s annual conference in Yeppon in late April where I will be giving a presentation and leading a workshop. Hoping to squeeze in some photography on the road trip too.
